David Tonoyan Deserves Pressure from the Authorities, Says Nairi Hohikyan

David Tonoyan deserves the pressures exerted upon him by the authorities. Those like him, standing alongside Nikol Pashinyan, also deserve this for abandoning the highest values of statehood in exchange for their positions. This was stated by interethnic conflict expert Nairi Hohikyan on his Facebook page.

Before the war, David Tonoyan was proud of the modern powerful weapons and the prospect of taking new territories from the enemy, which was also affirmed by the Prime Minister. Do you remember, Pashinyan said that the Defense Minister cannot make such statements without consulting with the Prime Minister? And do you remember how enthusiastically the Prime Minister praised Tonoyan when the SU aircraft were being delivered, emphasizing that all military agreements were made together?

Now, how is it that David Tonoyan has become the guilty one and has been arrested? Don’t you think that Pashinyan is creating a show to divert attention from himself? In general, this man is capable and ready to sacrifice even his closest and most loyal supporters just to save himself. Don’t be surprised if one day Nikol Pashinyan sacrifices Suren Papikyan, Ararat Mirzoyan, Araik Harutyunyan, even his brother-in-law, wife, and children, just to appear clean. Just to appear... a show.

David Tonoyan, Onik Gasparyan, and others who held high military positions during the war should at least speak out now. People need to know the truth, even if it costs the lives of 2-3 generals. I understand that the figures I mentioned are afraid for their own lives and safety, as my Jewish friend was, but Armenians at least need to understand that they can save our statehood if they speak out about the crimes of the political authorities and the treacherous orders they received.
