Authorities Will Force Opposition to Change Candidate for Deputy Head of Parliament Committee: 'Hraparak'
The ruling party wants to definitively resolve the issue of Arthur Ghazinyan's candidacy for the position of Deputy Head of the National Assembly Defense Committee and has decided to do so by amending the parliamentary regulations law, limiting the nomination of the same person for that position.
According to the new proposal, the same candidate can be nominated only three times. Under the current regulations, there is no such limitation, and the opposition can propose its candidate every five days.
With this amendment, the authorities will force the opposition to change its candidate and propose someone they want. It is worth noting that yesterday, the fifth attempt to elect Ghazinyan failed, as the ruling party did not vote for him. Committee Chairman Andranik Kocharyan once again reminded how Ghazinyan had thrown a bottle towards Pashinyan.
Arthur Ghazinyan suggested creating a subcommittee within the committee that would investigate the reasons for not stopping the war on October 7 and the circle of individuals involved in the decision-making. “Our people have the right to know who and for what purpose our more than 3,600 soldiers have died,” he said.
Andranik Kocharyan rejected the suggestion to include that question in the agenda, proposing to discuss the issue in an extraordinary session.
