The 'Armenia' Alliance Addresses Questions to the Authorities
The 'Armenia' alliance has directed questions to the authorities to clarify what actions the government has taken during the period following the war.
In the statement issued by the alliance, it was noted: "A prompt analysis of the humanitarian issues caused by the 44-day war unleashed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, a comprehensive assessment of social and other needs, and the implementation of necessary programs and measures to provide targeted support to our thousands of compatriots is of urgent necessity.
A year has passed since the treacherous war, but as we see, our thousands of compatriots affected by it continue to expect attention from the government regarding their problems and specific solutions, which leads to the conclusion that during the elapsed time, the government has not taken all necessary steps and measures towards a comprehensive assessment of the needs of our thousands of citizens and providing systemic solutions.
This issue will remain in the focus of the 'Armenia' faction, and accordingly, the faction has approached the government with inquiries, expecting answers to the following questions:
- Has full and accurate information been provided on the number, composition, age, and sex structure of families temporarily relocated from the Republic of Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia, their temporary residence in Armenia, the existence of their primary residence in Artsakh, and their addresses, as well as their contact information?
- Has full and accurate information been provided regarding families of individuals who died, went missing, were captured, or acquired injuries and disabilities in the recent war?
- Has a comprehensive assessment of the needs of these families been carried out with the involvement of local and international organizations, NGOs, and social workers, in accordance with existing criteria and guidelines, resulting in a complete picture of both the content of the necessary programs and the resources required to implement them?
- Has a reassessment of programs operating under the current state budget of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the funds of international donor organizations, been conducted, leading to relevant legal acts or coordinated decisions regarding the suspension of certain programs, cessation of others, and the launch of new programs as necessary?
- Has a reliable and accountable mechanism been established to coordinate volunteer assistance provided by the private sector and individuals living in Armenia and other countries, making it more targeted and purposeful, thus restoring trust in the government?
- Have you approached all relevant international organizations with a mandate (especially those operating under the UN mandate), primarily the representative offices operating in the Republic of Armenia, demanding effective measures to assist the Republic of Armenia to mitigate and gradually eliminate the humanitarian disaster caused by the war unleashed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem amid the ongoing global pandemic, and to protect the fundamental rights of citizens displaced from their permanent residences?
After receiving the response to the inquiries, it will undergo detailed analysis and be presented to the public.
