Co-Chairs of OSCE Agree with Baku and Yerevan to Resume Working Visits to Nagorno-Karabakh: Lavrov
The main outcome of the agreements reached last year by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia regarding the complete cessation of military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh is the stabilization of the situation in the conflict zone. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference held on September 28, as reported by TASS.
“Since May 9, 2020, our primary achievement has been the establishment of stability, which is now being maintained. The Russian peacekeeping forces facilitate the absence of any violent actions at present. Minor incidents that occurred in the initial phase have been swiftly eliminated. Once again, I emphasize that the situation there is stable now, although, of course, there are not few challenges,” Lavrov noted.
According to him, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group have coordinated the resumption of working visits to the Nagorno-Karabakh region with Baku and Yerevan in New York.
“Literally a few days ago, the three co-chairs — Russia, the USA, and France — met with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in New York. As I understand, they have coordinated the resumption of their trips and discussions to the region (Nagorno-Karabakh) with the representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan, including planned meetings in Stepanakert,” he announced.
