We Agree with Aliyev, Yes, There is No Nagorno-Karabakh Unity in Azerbaijan and There Will Be None: Babayan

"There is no administrative territory called 'Nagorno-Karabakh' in Azerbaijan; this is the only statement made by Ilham Aliyev that can be fully agreed upon. Yes, there is no unity of Karabakh in Azerbaijan, and there will be none because, for us, existing in Azerbaijan under any status is excluded," said David Babayan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, in an interview with 24News.

"This statement proves that there is no change in Azerbaijan's political policies and approaches. However, if he himself acknowledges that Karabakh can never be part of Azerbaijan, then we should begin negotiations in this direction for them to recognize that Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan and try to find a comprehensive solution to this conflict. We also say, yes, there is no and cannot be Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan; if he agrees on this, let's start negotiating on this matter," Babayan emphasized.

Referring to Aliyev's other statement that "there is no administrative territory called 'Nagorno-Karabakh' in Azerbaijan, and if someone wants to resurrect the deceased named 'Nagorno-Karabakh,' they should do it in their territory," David Babayan replied, "That is not his decision; Artsakh is not deceased. We have a history of 15,000 years and have buried many empires; Azerbaijan is neither the first nor the last, so we do not regard such conclusions as significant."

It should be noted that today Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity. "We have resolved the conflict through military-political means; the war is a thing of the past, and the Karabakh conflict has moved into the annals of history. There is no administrative territory called 'Nagorno-Karabakh' in Azerbaijan, and if someone wishes to resurrect the deceased named 'Nagorno-Karabakh,' let them do so in their territory, let them create a republic, a formation, or a union called 'Nagorno-Karabakh' in their territory, and we will recognize it. But not in Azerbaijan. That issue has been resolved."
