The Catholicos Conducts a Memorial Service for Heroes Fallen in War

On September 27, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a memorial service was held at the Saint Gayane Monastery for the peace of the souls of the defenders who fell during the 44-day Artsakh war.

The ceremony was attended by members and staff of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, benefactors, political and public figures, as well as educators and students from the 'Eurnekian' High School.

Before the memorial service, the Mother See’s spiritual leader, His Grace Bishop Mushegh Babayan, delivered a speech reflecting on the tragic events of the 44-day war. The bishop called upon the clergy and the gathered faithful to pray for the peace of the souls of the fallen heroes, as well as for the healing of the wounded and the return of the missing.
