Diplomatic Efforts Must Continue, Says Marukyan
There was a genocide in 1915, and in 1918 there were Armenian-Turkish relations, and we had an ambassador. Therefore, these two should not be confused with each other.
This was stated by former MP Edmond Marukyan during a conversation with journalists at Yerablur, as reported by Tert.am.
He noted that talking to neighbors is one thing, but ensuring the country's security is another. “There is significant diplomatic work to be done, and it must be done. Through all the platforms we have, we continue to present that Azerbaijan has committed war crimes against Armenia and Artsakh, and if we are well organized and consistent, we can raise the issue of accountability in international criminal courts,” he said.
Regarding the establishment of an investigative commission and involving extra-parliamentary forces in it, Marukyan mentioned that he is not aware of what format is being discussed and is not ready to enter into any imitative process.
