A Year Ago Today We Were Together Forming a New Classroom... It Remains Unfinished: Karin Tonoyan's Tribute to His Son

Leader of the '5165 Movement,' Karin Tonoyan, made a poignant post:

“Exactly one year ago today, we were together forming a new classroom at school... Do you remember, you left my office to go to that classroom... Suddenly, a terrible and strange fear gripped me. I called out, ‘Men, can you come back for a minute?’ You returned and asked, ‘Yes, Mom?’ I said, ‘Will you give me a strong hug?’ You looked surprised and asked, ‘Mom, what’s wrong?’ and you hugged me tightly. Men, do you remember? ‘I don’t know, darling, just a kind of fear settled inside me.’ ‘What are you afraid of, Mom?’ you asked. ‘I don’t know, darling, maybe I'm afraid we won't get to finish that classroom...’ ‘Oh, Mom, today is still Saturday, there’s still Sunday, on Monday, you will get your classroom, even if I don’t sleep at all tonight...’ And you hugged me tight with your unique ringing laughter...

At 1 AM, we left for home, tired. The next morning, the cursed war began... The classroom remained unfinished, Men... and until now, it is still unfinished, I will not let anyone finish it... You never came out of my office again... Maybe I felt that and got scared back then, Men... Now I’m still afraid, Men... I’m very afraid... and you are not here, your comforting embrace is gone... it’s gone... Men, there is no longer any meaning... Only pain and revenge exist... there is only a relentless fight, Men, a relentless fight. And in that fight, you will win, Men, you! I swear.”
