The Mother See's Attitude Towards Vaccinations

“Vaccination against the coronavirus has raised some concerns among the public, and in this regard, the ‘Zhoghvoroud’ newspaper has contacted the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to understand the position of the church and His Holiness Karekin II regarding the vaccinations, and what message the Catholicos is sending to his flock.

In a conversation with ArmLur.am, the Director of the Ecclesiastical Department of the Mother See, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan stated that the Armenian Apostolic Church sees no spiritual or religious issue with getting vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“Many clergy members have already been vaccinated in the dioceses of the Armenian Church both in the Diaspora and in Armenia,” said the cleric.

It is worth reminding that about a month ago, Pope Francis also called on humanity to get vaccinated against the coronavirus,” the newspaper writes.
