VIDEO: The Civil Contract Party Discussed and Adopted the Community Consolidation Bill Without Opposition
Today, during an extraordinary session, the National Assembly adopted in the second reading, with 63 votes in favor, a package of bills presented by the Government regarding amendments to the Law on Administrative Territorial Division of the Republic of Armenia and the Law on Local Self-Government.
The package also includes amendments related to the Anti-Corruption Committee, proposed by National Assembly deputies Vahagn Hovakimyan and Vladimir Vardanyan.
The bill regarding the consolidation of communities proposes to merge 441 communities into 37 community clusters, resulting in a total of 78 communities, with 71 being consolidated.
It is worth noting that only the Civil Contract faction participated in the discussion and voting on the bills, as the opposition had left the meeting hall before the break.
