Pentagon and State Department to Prepare Report on Azerbaijan's Actions in Artsakh
The U.S. House of Representatives approved the defense budget proposal for the next fiscal year (beginning October 1) on Thursday, amounting to $778 billion. This was reported by TASS.
This legislative initiative received support from 316 lawmakers, while 113 opposed it.
Furthermore, the House indicates that an amendment has been made to the bill, requiring the Pentagon and the State Department to prepare a report on Azerbaijan’s actions in Artsakh in 2020. The document is to be submitted to the relevant committees of the legislative body.
Additionally, it is expected that lawmakers will urge the Azerbaijani authorities to “release all Armenian prisoners of war and detained civilians.” This amendment suggests that Congress will call on the U.S. administration to collaborate with Azerbaijan in this direction.
