Moment of the Day: Aggressive Parrot Against Angela Merkel
Germany's current chancellor, Angela Merkel, unexpectedly came under "attack" by an aggressive lorikeet parrot. According to TASS news agency, referencing a Munich publication, the incident occurred on Friday when the government leader visited a bird park in Marlow.
Merkel has made the visit to her former constituency ahead of the Bundestag elections scheduled for September 26. During the tour, the chancellor also visited the bird park, where she intended to feed the residents of the center.
Merkel was given a paper cup filled with food to feed the birds. The lorikeets began to eat from her hand. One of the birds landed on the chancellor's head, while another bit her finger. According to sources, the parrot bit quite painfully.
Afterward, Merkel expressed a desire to see a 60 cm tall European owl, but she was more cautious this time and refused to hold the bird in her hands.
