Explosion of Ammunition Due to Fire at Armenian Position in Tegh Community
ArmDaily.am previously reported on the deplorable condition of Armenian positions located near the border in the Tegh community of the Syunik region. Notably, it was mentioned that Armenian conscripts and contract servicemen are forced to live under patched tents without basic facilities, in front of Azerbaijani combat positions that have been built with all amenities in a very short time.
According to ArmDaily.am, last night, a conscript serviceman at an Armenian position located near one of the communities that became a so-called border zone after the 44-day war lit a stove to protect against the cold. A fire broke out, causing an entire arsenal of weapons, including grenades and ammunition, to explode. Fortunately, the servicemen were able to evacuate in time and none were injured. However, the fire could not be extinguished even by the emergency response team that arrived.
Despite the government distributing bonuses of 350,000 drams to ministry staff, they were unable to provide the Armenian army with basic conditions a year after the war, while Azerbaijanis continue to live in the best conditions at their observation posts.
