Azerbaijani Soldier Commits Suicide Near Armenian Position: Details from the Black Lake Area

Yesterday, reports surfaced in the press regarding an incident in the area of the Black Lake in Syunik Province, where an Azerbaijani soldier, who had infiltrated Armenian territory after May 12 and illegally established himself in an Azerbaijani position, reportedly committed suicide.

According to ArmDaily.am's sources, the soldier who took his own life was a conscript. He had left the Azerbaijani position and approached the Armenian side but, not crossing the agreed-upon boundary, shot himself in the head.

Hearing the gunshot, other Azerbaijani soldiers rushed to his aid. We have been informed that following this incident, no changes in the number of Azerbaijani military personnel or other restless movements have been observed.
