Armenian Church in California Vandalized
The Armenian Saint Peter's church located in Van Nuys, California, was subjected to an act of vandalism on Thursday. According to Armenpress, the perpetrator broke 8 very rare stained glass windows of the church.
Father Shnorhk Demirchyan, the priest of Saint Peter's Church, informed the media that surveillance camera recordings showed the assailant wearing black clothing and a hat, carrying a bag, and using a baseball bat to smash the stained glass windows at the address Sherman Way.
Father Demirchyan and the church council learned about the vandalism early Thursday morning and immediately informed the Los Angeles Police Department, which announced that it is actively investigating the incident. According to Father Demirchyan, the police have classified the incident as "vandalism."
