85% of our bed capacity has already been deployed and is currently serving for the treatment of COVID patients. This was announced by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a government meeting where she presented the morbidity rates related to the pandemic.
“Yesterday, a total of 6,221 tests were conducted, of which 906 were positive cases. Unfortunately, there were 16 reported deaths yesterday. At present, there are 2,156 beds deployed across 18 medical organizations for the treatment of coronavirus patients, with 2,006 of them occupied. Overall, 85% of our bed capacity has already been deployed for the treatment of COVID patients. With the onset of autumn, we are also experiencing an increase in morbidity from other illnesses, which is natural, thus the pressure on the healthcare system is quite significant,” emphasized the minister.
