Some MPs from the Ruling Party Will Have Their Rent Paid by the National Assembly

The National Assembly will reimburse the rent for apartments leased by certain members of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction in Yerevan. In response to a written inquiry by Factor.am, the Assembly’s staff reported that the rent compensation is received by Civil Contract MPs Vahe Ghazaryan, Taguhi Ghazaryan, Hovik Aghazaryan, Matevos Asatryan, Arpi Davoyan, Knyaz Hasanov, Aren Mkrtchyan, Sergey Movsisyan, Lilit Stepanyan, and Narek Ghahramanyan.

Each MP receives a reimbursement of 100,000 Armenian drams for rent under the April 3, 2018 decision No. N0-08-N of the President of the National Assembly. It is worth noting that recent legislative changes have also provided each MP with an additional 250,000 drams per month to cover parliamentary expenses.

According to the information provided by the Assembly, opposition factions have not yet applied to the staff for rental reimbursements.
