Peskov on US Congress Imposing Sanctions on 35 Russian Citizens

The document approved by the US House of Representatives committee proposes to consider the imposition of sanctions against 35 Russian representatives, which is described as a "parliamentary exercise." This was announced today by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian Federation.

According to him, it is no secret that there are many individuals in Congress and various committees who are not well-informed about the realities of Russia and, at the same time, do not like the country.

It should be noted that the House committee on rules has approved a bill recommending sanctions against 35 individuals who, in Washington's view, are connected to human rights violations. Key figures on the published list include Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the head of Rosgvardia, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, the Minister of Health, and the Mayor of Moscow. Additionally, businessmen Roman Abramovich, leaders of Rosneft and Gazprom, as well as RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, the general director of Channel One, and several others may be included in the new sanctions list.

The House has also approved a bill to tighten sanctions against Russia's national debt.
