Five New Pro-Armenian Amendments in the U.S. Congress: What Issues Will Be Discussed

The U.S. Congress has allowed a vote on five pro-Armenian amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. The full vote in the U.S. House of Representatives will begin this evening.

These amendments demand that Baku release Armenian prisoners of war and carry out an investigation into military crimes, particularly regarding the use of American technology to produce Turkish drones, the application of prohibited munitions, and the bringing of foreign terrorists to the battlefield.

Another amendment calls for a 180-day report on all U.S. humanitarian and development assistance programs in Nagorno-Karabakh, including an analysis of the effectiveness of such programs and future assistance plans.

Discussion will also address the designation of the Gray Wolves Turkish group as a terrorist organization. Additionally, proposals aimed at improving human rights education and additional measures intended to punish serious human rights violations and corruption will also be on the agenda.
