Chief Prosecutors of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan Meet
The chief prosecutors of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan met in Nur-Sultan, as reported by the Russian General Prosecutor's Office press service.
During the meeting, Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, highlighted the effectiveness of the trilateral format and reported significant results achieved by the parties in strengthening the rule of law in Nagorno-Karabakh and stabilizing the lives of the people.
According to the Russian Prosecutor General, the main goal has been to prevent the escalation of tension among the population of the entire region.
He urged for a more intensive use of the opportunity to engage with Russian military prosecutors stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh as a means of information exchange, including transmitting signals about violations that have occurred, as well as continuing work on the repatriation of citizens.
Igor Krasnov thanked his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts for their constructive cooperation and focusing on the common goal of achieving peace and stability. The positive dynamics of cooperation in the area of searches for missing persons was also mentioned.
During the event, the parties agreed to continue search operations.
The participants discussed the progress of implementing the statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia and the prospects for further legal cooperation.
The Prosecutors General of Azerbaijan and Armenia expressed gratitude to their Russian counterpart for implementing the humanitarian aspects of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
The parties reaffirmed the previously reached agreement on the necessity of activating contacts to prevent further tension.
