Man Hits Uncle with Fists and Stabs Him in the Chest; Investigation Completed
The investigation into the murder of a 54-year-old man has been completed by the Shengavit administrative district investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.
As reported to NEWS.am by the Investigative Committee, significant details of the incident have been clarified through investigative and other legal actions carried out in the criminal case.
Specifically, it was established that on June 4, 2021, around 8:30 PM, an argument over household issues occurred between a resident of the Shengavit administrative district, a man born in 1966, and his nephew who lived in the same house. During the dispute, the man insulted his nephew and attempted to hit him with a piece of wood. In response, the nephew punched his uncle in the face and then stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
After the incident, the man returned home, and the next day, on June 5, at around 3:30 PM, his sister discovered him dead in the house.
A forensic examination was appointed to determine the nature and extent of the bodily injury, the mechanism of occurrence, and several other circumstances. According to the expert's conclusion, the cause of death was acute blood loss resulting from a penetrating stab wound to the anterior surface of the left side of the thorax.
Based on the collected sufficient evidence, the nephew has been charged under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and he has been remanded in custody as a precautionary measure.
The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request to confirm the indictment and forward it to court.
