Peskov Confirms: Erdogan to Visit Russia for Talks with Putin
The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, has announced to TASS that the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Russia is being prepared. Earlier, the Turkish presidential office had stated that Erdogan's visit to Russia for talks with Putin is expected on September 29. He is scheduled to travel to Sochi.
"The visit is being prepared," Peskov said in response to a question about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to meet with his Turkish counterpart during this visit to Russia. On Monday, Peskov told reporters that a broader agenda could be touched upon during Erdogan's visit to Russia, ranging from bilateral relations to Syria and other regional conflicts.
In turn, Erdogan mentioned in August that he intends to discuss details regarding the purchase of a second batch of S-400 missile systems during his upcoming visit to Russia.
