Car Overturns on Stepanakert-Vank Highway; One Passenger Dies at Scene

On September 19, 2021, at approximately 11:20 AM, two cars, a "Volkswagen Golf-3" driven by a 1995-born resident of Martuni and a "Volkswagen Vento" driven by a 1991-born resident of Stepanakert, collided on the 45th kilometer of the Stepanakert-Vank highway. As a result of the collision, the "Volkswagen Vento" lost control and overturned. One passenger, Margarita Eldari Tadevosyan, born in 1981 from Stepanakert, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver and three other passengers were taken to medical facilities with injuries.

The senior investigator of the regional investigation department of the Artsakh Investigative Committee has arrived at the scene. Urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to clarify all circumstances of the incident. The investigation into the criminal case has been initiated under Article 253, Part 2 of the Artsakh Criminal Code and is ongoing.
