The Artsakh National Assembly, according to my sources, and the Government have not received invitations to participate in the events marking the Independence Day of Armenia. This was reported to «Factinfo» by Artsakh MP Metakse Hakhobyan.

According to her, the Armenian authorities are showing their agreement with Turkey and Azerbaijan, signaling that the issue of Artsakh no longer exists for them. "For them, Artsakh does not exist, let alone invite guests from Artsakh. Although I am confident that none of us would have been prepared to participate in a 'colorful' event anyway. They must show Aliyev and Erdogan in every way that they are not deviating from their agreements, that there is no longer Artsakh, no Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. They are showing that they are committed to their agreements and promises. The clear proof of this was Aliyev's statement that they have a scenario with the Armenian authorities, which they are following according to schedule, as well as Erdogan's statement yesterday that Nikol Pashinyan has proposed a meeting through the Prime Minister of Georgia. They are maintaining their agenda in every way, and that agenda cannot include Artsakh, because, according to them, the issue of Artsakh has been closed, and now they are resolving issues related to Armenia. This agenda is common for them," said the Artsakh MP.

She noted that with the decision to hold a "colorful and large-scale" event, Nikol Pashinyan merely aimed to distract the public's attention from important issues and change the discussion agenda. "In my opinion, Nikol Pashinyan is very clever and cunning; he has managed to divert the public and the opposition from the real agenda for a long time. Everyone is only discussing the colorful celebration. I was not surprised by his statement because one cannot expect anything else from a person who hates his homeland. What surprises me is that our society is more angry about this, considering that there is an Azerbaijani checkpoint in our homeland. Two days ago, when the young football players from Artsakh were passing along the Goris-Kapan road, the Azerbaijanis treated them in a vile manner, removing the Artsakh flag and trying to humiliate our children. Thank God our children stood tall and firm, and did not fear. This incident was dismissed by Alen Simonian as an unworthy event. Numerous incidents have occurred, yet we were all preoccupied with mocking the colorful festivities. Nikol Pashinyan has managed to shift the agenda and address important issues for himself while simultaneously resting by the shores of Lake Sevan and riding a bicycle, confusing everyone," said Metakse Hakhobyan.

She also emphasized that society must do everything to prevent tomorrow's event from taking place. "A vivid example was when Anna Hakobyan tried to hold a large event for the New Year in Artsakh last December, but our society and opposition figures gathered like one person and gave a few minutes for the decorations to be dismantled, and they did it quickly. Our society should go this way today, rather than standing and making calls, or starting a street movement in a Pashinyan-style manner. Resolving issues in the streets is Pashinyan's method. We should have gone and disrupted that event, to dismantle the stage and ensure that the event does not take place that day," said Metakse Hakhobyan.
