Gas Prices in Europe Plummet After Record Surge
Gas prices in Europe have decreased from $750 per thousand cubic meters, marking a drop of 13%. This decline is evidenced by futures data, according to RIA Novosti.
On September 16, futures prices had risen to $853.5, after which a downward trend began.
It is noteworthy that on September 15, gas prices in Europe set a record, quadrupling within a day to reach $950 per thousand cubic meters.
Konstantin Simonov, director of the National Energy Security Fund, stated that gas prices in Europe could rise to $1,000 per thousand cubic meters. He attributed the increase in gas prices within European territories to weather conditions and a reduction in the volumes of liquefied gas supplies.
