VIDEO: Several Dozens of Iranian Trucks Stranded Near Sisian
One of the fuel truck drivers told Sputnik Armenia that they were demanded $360 when passing by the Azerbaijani checkpoint. He did not have any money with him. The Azerbaijanis let him go on the condition that he would pay upon return. However, he still has no money.
According to him, other drivers are also in a similar deadlock situation. They do not know what to do since there is no alternative route for returning.
“I’ll say it in Persian, we’ve been here for a long time, since yesterday. Azerbaijani forces stopped us and are demanding money. We want to go back to empty Iran, but the Azerbaijani forces are charging us fees, around $380 customs duty for each vehicle. We are waiting to see if this issue will be resolved or not; that’s what we are waiting for,” said the drivers.
