VIDEO: First Tourists in Space
Last night, the first civilian crew was launched into orbit. The launch was conducted by Elon Musk's SpaceX company. The Crew Dragon spacecraft took off from the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39A in Florida.
The four members of the Inspiration4 mission symbolize leadership, hope, generosity, and prosperity. They are businessman Jared Isaacman, children's hospital employee Hayley Arceneaux, experienced pilot Chris Sembroski, and educator Sian Proctor. They have not undergone extensive training, only completing medical examinations and receiving briefings.
The tourists will spend three days in space.
