Two Mortars Discovered in Aknalitch Village

The Emergency Management Center of the Armavir region received information on September 16 at 12:47 PM that ammunition had been discovered in Aknalitch village. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia reported that an operational group from the regional rescue department along with a fire-rescue and engineering team from the collective center of civil defense forces was dispatched to the scene.

According to sources, two 82-millimeter mortars, corroded and without detonators, were found in the vineyards, along with a device leading to a mortar shell. The discovered ammunition has been transported to a military training ground of the RA Ministry of Defense for further destruction.
