Pashinyan's Statement at CSTO

Pashinyan's Statement at CSTO

The member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) need to deepen discussions on foreign policy issues to build unified views and approaches on international and regional challenges. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a CSTO meeting in Dushanbe.

“We must continue the work on foreign policy issues and achieve consensus through mutual assistance on the international and regional matters that pertain to the interests of CSTO member states. In this regard, we consider it very important to conduct discussions at various platforms, including the format of deputy ministers of defense and foreign affairs,” he noted.

According to Pashinyan, the ongoing developments in the region within the framework of the CSTO's mandates clearly indicate the need to update the organization's crisis response mechanisms.

“There is an obvious demand for the modernization of monitoring mechanisms, as well as for forecasting and alerting on crisis situations,” he added, emphasizing that Armenia is ready to cooperate with CSTO member states to modernize the organization's armed forces and enhance combat readiness.
