Over 400 Residents of Goris Interrogated: Irina Yolyan on AD TV

During an interview on AD TV, Irina Yolyan, former deputy mayor of Goris and member of the Arush Arushanyan alliance, stated that according to the information received, three Armenian vehicles were stopped at an Azerbaijani police checkpoint located near Vorotan, where inspections were conducted.

She noted that these developments were expected, as when Azerbaijanis were throwing stones and making threatening gestures to passersby, they warned that all of this would have consequences and developments.

Yolyan mentioned that while initially there were only 20 Azerbaijanis at the police checkpoint, their number has now reached 80, and there is no guarantee that this number will not increase. Moreover, employees from three different Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies are involved there.

She indicated that there are six cameras installed along the road, four of which belong to the police checkpoint. In addition, Azerbaijanis are collecting personal data of Armenian and Iranian travelers and drivers passing through this road, which could result in dangerous repercussions.

Yolyan believes that if the mayors of Syunik were free, they would resist the encroachments carried out by Azerbaijanis in every possible way, and perhaps this situation would not have occurred.

Regarding the Arush Arushanyan alliance, Yolyan mentions that despite the political pressure exerted on them by the authorities, she believes in the will of the people of Goris and that regardless of the pressure, they will make the right choice.

On Arush Arushanyan's criminal case, the former deputy mayor of Goris notes that over 400 residents of Goris have been interrogated, and only one person's, Lusine Avetian's, repeatedly altered testimony has led to Arushanyan's deprivation of liberty.
