Azerbaijan Protests French Delegation's Visit to Artsakh

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized the visit of a delegation led by French parliament member François Pupponi to Artsakh, claiming that such actions disrupt efforts to establish peace in the region.

Leila Abdullayeva, head of the press service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that French officials making what she called an "illegal visit" to Stepanakert would be banned from entering Azerbaijan. This remark was in response to inquiries regarding Pupponi's visit to the capital of the Artsakh Republic.

Abdullayeva noted that this was not the first time Pupponi has made an "illegal visit" to what she referred to as "Azerbaijan's territory." She added, "Due to violations of Azerbaijani legislation, the name of the French legislator is now on the list of foreign nationals banned from entering our country. A ban on entry will also be imposed on the mayor of Arnouville and a representative from Sarcelles, who accompanied the French parliament member during this illegal visit.

This irresponsible and provocative behavior by French representatives is unacceptable and undermines efforts to establish peace in the region following the conflict," the statement from Abdullayeva concluded.
