97-98% of Hospitalized Patients Are Unvaccinated or Not Fully Vaccinated: Avanesyan
The 97-98% of the hospitalized patients are those citizens who are either unvaccinated or have not received complete vaccination. The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan reported that the hospital bed capacity in Armenia is depleting rapidly, with 2,044 beds currently available, of which 1,860 are occupied.
“In the intensive care unit alone, out of 319 beds, 289 are occupied,” Avanesyan stated. The minister emphasized that the overarching challenge in overcoming the coronavirus is to reduce severe, extremely severe, and fatal cases to ensure the healthcare system can provide adequate medical care to all patients. “Through our collective efforts, we must keep the spread of the disease within manageable limits and allow doctors to fight effectively,” she said.
