No More Special License Plates, Says 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'Newly formed members of the National Assembly will no longer be provided with parliamentary license plates series HH 11 to affix to their cars. The decision comes from the new staff of the National Assembly, who confirmed our information that MPs will no longer have such 'untouchable' license plates.
In reality, they didn’t play a significant role in traffic; cameras captured violations by cars with parliamentary numbers and fines were sent to their owners. The main advantage, apart from the 'flashiness', was the more lenient treatment from traffic police inspectors, who recognized and did not stop cars with such license plates.
The staff indicated that only vice-presidents of the National Assembly, committee chairs, and faction leaders would receive state license plates with series HH 01. They will also officially receive a service vehicle as part of their duties.
