Why Are We Not Creating Problems for the Azerbaijani Military-Political Authority? - Tovmasyan

For a long time, we have been talking about the enemy within the borders of the Republic of Armenia, but as a nation, we do not understand what needs to be done, because we are faced with a situation fraught with dangers. This was stated by Takhouhi Tovmasyan, a member of the "Honorary Right" faction, from the podium of the National Assembly.

She noted that she has sent a written inquiry to the Prosecutor General's Office regarding this issue, asking for clarification on three questions. "Firstly, does the Prosecutor's Office see manifestations of crimes under the Criminal Code in the actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces, and what measures have been taken? Are there any criminal cases initiated regarding the infiltration of Azerbaijani troops into the sovereign territory of Armenia, their incursion 3.5 km deep, and the closure of the Goris-Kapan road? The third question is, if there are criminal cases initiated concerning the infiltration of Azerbaijani troops into the sovereign territory of Armenia and the closure of roads, when were they initiated, at what stage are they, and are there any accused?"

Tovmasyan noted that she received a response from the Prosecutor General's Office stating that, since May 13, several criminal cases had been initiated with quite serious articles. "The response indicates that the preliminary investigation on these cases is ongoing and that there are no individuals involved as defendants. This single sentence contains the whole problem. Why are there no involved defendants and why are we not creating problems for the Azerbaijani military-political authority? Why are we allowing the Azerbaijani military-political authority to take advantage of its right to free movement without being treated as criminals? Why has no international arrest warrant been issued against them?"

Tovmasyan emphasized that the Prosecutor's Office should not be conducting investigations against an Azerbaijani football commentator but should create problems for Azerbaijan's military-political leadership. "The legal pathway to expel the Azerbaijani armed forces from the territory of Armenia is in the hands of the Prosecutor's Office. Why are we afraid of Aliyev and his entourage?" - Takhouhi Tovmasyan said.
