Syunik is under threat, but processes are ongoing: Hrachya Hakobyan
As you mentioned, I can speak a little about the situation created in Syunik. This was the response of the MP from the ruling ‘Civil Contract’ faction, Hrachya Hakobyan, during an interview with journalist Karpis Pashoyan on 24news regarding a question related to Syunik.
“I can refrain from discussing these issues as they are very specialized topics and perhaps I am not competent in this regard,” the MP stated.
In response to the journalist’s observation that your government stated this winter that there is no threat to Syunik, but now we see that the roads are opening and closing, and we see a police checkpoint, does it mean that Syunik is indeed under threat?
Hakobyan answered that there is a threat, but processes are ongoing.
“As you noted, there was a brief period when the road segment was closed. Negotiations took place and the road was reopened. Now, some checkpoints have been set up—the negotiations and the work are continuing. We are in a post-war period, and I believe that similar difficulties would arise in such situations in all countries,” he said.
Hakobyan also commented on the uproar surrounding the MP related to taking a vacation. He emphasized that he, like everyone else, has the right to rest. Moreover, he denied the rumors about spending time in a $3000 club, stating that it is false.
