Joe Biden to Deliver Important Speech at UN General Assembly Next Week
U.S. President Joe Biden will deliver a speech from the podium of the UN General Assembly next week. The White House Press Office announced this on Monday.
"The President will travel to New York to speak at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 21," the White House stated. Additional details regarding the speech will be provided later.
As reported by Politico last week, the U.S. government intends to propose an international summit on the pandemic and global vaccinations in September. Washington hopes to hold this meeting during the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on September 22.
According to Politico, Washington plans to address the expansion of vaccine supply to developing countries, ways to improve the production of these medicines, and the opportunities for establishing international cooperation in research and development related to the disease during this meeting.
It is worth noting that on September 9, Biden stated he intends to outline new measures soon to assist other nations in combating the pandemic.
