Shooting in Armavir Region: Suspect is Director of Canned Goods Factory, Victim is Entrepreneur
On September 10th, operational information was received at the Baghramyan division of the police regarding a shooting incident that occurred on September 2nd around 00:30 in the village of Karakert. According to Shamshyan.com, the police operational group arrived in the village and discovered that the confrontation had taken place between two residents of the village—46-year-old Lyert Mnatsakanyan and 38-year-old Hrayerik Hakobyan.
During the argument, Hakobyan fired shots into the air with a 12 mm smoothbore hunting rifle registered under his name, which is of the “ATA ARMS” type. As a result, Mnatsakanyan sustained a facial injury under unclear circumstances, reportedly not due to the gunfire.
The Baghramyan police’s investigative department is preparing materials on the incident. Both Mnatsakanyan and Hakobyan were summoned to the police station and subsequently released.
The rifle has also been found, and a series of examinations have been ordered by the investigator, including forensic examinations. According to G. Shamshyan’s information, Hrayerik Hakobyan is the director of the canned goods factory in Karakert, while Lyert Mnatsakanyan is an entrepreneur.
