VIDEO: 'When I heard the sound of the plane, God became mine' - Emotions of Aramayis Torosyan who returned from captivity
After almost two months in captivity, Aramayis Torosyan from Goris has returned to Armenia. He was captured by Azerbaijani forces while delivering food to soldiers in the area around Lake Sevan, having lost his way due to fog.
Now, back home and surrounded by family, Aramayis, known affectionately as Armon, is reluctant to speak about the emotions he experienced during his time in captivity. He only shares that he missed his daughter Lilit immensely and often thought about how she would cope with the sadness if he did not return.
He also recounts that at first he did not realize he was being transferred to Armenia. However, upon hearing the sound of the airplane in the vehicle, he could no longer contain his joy and practically ascended the staircase as if floating.
After his transfer to Armenia, while undergoing a medical examination at one of the capital's health facilities, many parents of other captive soldiers visited him, showing pictures of their sons and trying to find out if he had seen them. Speaking about this, Aramayis can no longer hold back his emotions.
He pulls out documents, coins, and his phone from his pocket, items that had been returned to him on his last day. He states that despite his family’s objections, he has decided to continue delivering food: “What about our army...?”
