Ararat Governor Discusses Resignation Reasons
Speculations regarding the resignation of Ararat Governor Razmik Teyvonyan were confirmed yesterday. The Ararat Regional Administration published a message from the now-former governor today, in which he did not address the reasons for his resignation.
“Dear citizens, as it is already known, I have submitted a resignation request to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from the position of Governor of Ararat. There are various versions circulating on social media regarding my resignation, one of which states that ‘a document has been signed for the transfer of Tigranashen, which has prompted my resignation.’ I officially declare that the rumors related to the transfer of Tigranashen are fabricated; such a thing has never been discussed and will not be discussed. I ask you to refrain from false and baseless speculations,” Teyvonyan stated.
In an interview with 168.am, Razmik Teyvonyan expressed that he does not wish to comment further at this time but assured, “There is no specific reason.”
– Did you decide to submit your resignation without any reason?
– I am tired of work; I am over 60 years old.
– Is there no political reason, Mr. Teyvonyan?
– No, no, there’s nothing like that. It is unnecessary for such things to be written, such as with the Tigranashen question. Why do they do such things?
– Will you be focusing on your business?
– Definitely, what else is there to talk about?
It is noteworthy that Razmik Teyvonyan was appointed as the Governor of Ararat on December 10, 2020. He is non-partisan and began his professional career at the Ararat Canning Factory. Before being appointed as Governor of Ararat, he was the director of the Yeraskh Wine Factory.
