Russia Monitors Discussions on Peace Treaty Signing Between Yerevan and Baku: Zakharova
Russia is closely monitoring discussions regarding the signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, stated the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. Sputnik Armenia reports:
“We are attentively following the ongoing discussions in Armenia and Azerbaijan concerning the signing of a peace treaty between the two countries, related to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh status issue,” said Zakharova.
She noted that, unfortunately, fundamental disagreements on political matters still persist. For this reason, Moscow considers it essential to strictly adhere to all provisions of the trilateral agreements of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, at this stage.
Zakharova expressed hope that these steps would help create conditions for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
