NSS Reports on Prisoners Returned from Azerbaijan Last Night

On September 7, two citizens of the Republic of Armenia were returned from the Republic of Azerbaijan. In exchange, the Azerbaijani side received Jamir Babaev, an Azerbaijani soldier detained in Artsakh, who had illegally crossed the border on August 25 and entered one of the houses in the Martakert region of Artsakh.

This information was provided to Armenpress by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia.

The return of the prisoners took place through the mediation of the commander of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping forces, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.

The two returned citizens are Arthur Nalbandyan and Aramais Torosyan, who were reported missing from the area of Lake Sevan on July 14 while serving in the Armenian Armed Forces.
