Georgia is Dying: Saakashvili Will Return to His Homeland Regardless of Consequences

The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has once again expressed his desire to return to his homeland, emphasizing that he will come back "regardless of the consequences," according to reports by apsny.ge and Tert.am.

"For the first time in these years, I said that I will come, regardless of the consequences: for the first time in my life, I said that now is the time where we lose our homeland... Now we all have to, there is no other way. Georgia is dying, Georgia is disappearing from the map, and we all see this situation; our country is in a very grave condition," said Mikheil Saakashvili.

Recently, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili commented on the former president's intention to return to the country. "If he wants to come, let him come. It has been 8-9 years already; why can’t he come? What do you think, is it because he is a coward, a rabbit, a fearful person?" Garibashvili responded regarding Saakashvili’s statement that he would announce his plans related to Georgia on Monday.

As Garibashvili noted in an interview with journalists, Saakashvili's latest "foolish provocation" only brings a smile. "I very much want Saakashvili to come; we would have a lot of fun. I promised him that I would prepare a beautiful collection of ties and send it to prison—a renovated prison. This is Saakashvili's fate," added Garibashvili.
