New Developments in the Patron Davo Case

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports on new developments regarding Davit Galstyan, known as Patron Davo. The Supreme Court has accepted the appeal of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia. What awaits Davit Galstyan?

The issue is that the Court of Appeals had released Patron Davo, which the Prosecutor's Office challenged in the Supreme Court, and the latter has accepted the case for review.

According to rumors circulating in the judicial and law enforcement systems, the Supreme Court is unlikely to reinstate Patron Davo's detention because he has received protection from the authorities. Moreover, if he is detained again, several officials currently working in the Ministry of Defense could also be implicated, including the Chief of the General Staff Artak Davtyan, former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, and other officials.

It should be noted that "Zhoghovurd" previously reported that the release of Davit Galstyan, involved in arms trade, was not coincidental. He had provided numerous services to the revolutionary government in the context of state orders for arms procurement.

For context, Davit Galstyan had been in custody since February 2 and was released on May 17. He was charged with supplying shells of a different type manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1977, which significantly inferior in tactical capabilities to the appropriate caliber shells produced between 1983-1986 for the Ministry of Defense.
