It’s Still September, Yet the State Order’s Annual Funds Have Run Out: Daniel Ioannisyan Raises Alarm
Daniel Ioannisyan, the coordinator of the Open Society Foundation and a member of the Public Council, wrote on his Facebook page: “The disgrace of healthcare financing: from 2018 to 2020, cancer surgeries became free, expensive stenting for heart attacks and strokes became free, and air ambulance services were introduced, among other things. It was felt that the state was not sparing expenses on healthcare.
At one point, I mentioned this theme saying, ‘Arsen is taking money from Nikol by the collar for healthcare, while Araik is unable to do the same for education’ (taking by the collar is a figurative and positive expression). Back then, I hoped that the state policy and attitude towards education would catch up to that of healthcare. But no, the opposite happened, and the state’s attitude towards healthcare funding deteriorated. It’s still September, and the state order’s annual funds have already run out. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a qualitative regression.”
