I Am Not Afraid to Entrust My Fate to the Georgian People: Saakashvili Decides to Return to Georgia
Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has announced on his Facebook page that he will return to his homeland to participate in the local elections scheduled for October 2.
Saakashvili has also called on his supporters to "postpone their affairs" on that day and come to Georgia to participate in the elections. He emphasized that he is not afraid of potential arrests related to the criminal cases against him, as he believes that the Georgian people will liberate both himself and his former presidency.
"I am not afraid to entrust my fate to the Georgian people," said the politician. Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that if Saakashvili arrives in the country, he will be met with imprisonment.
