22-Year-Old Shot and Stabbed Over Car Engine Repair Dispute
On the evening of September 4, a report was received by the Kotayk police department from a hospital indicating that a 21-year-old resident of Kotayk village was admitted with stab wounds to the chest. Neither the doctors nor the law enforcement officials were informed by the victim about where and under what circumstances he sustained the injuries. This information was reported by the police's press service.
Through operational investigative measures, it was also established that at the same time, a 25-year-old resident of Mayakovski village fired shots in Kotayk village; three cartridges were found at the scene.
Kotayk police, in cooperation with the regional department and the Abovyan investigative unit, clarified that on September 4, around 8:30 PM, during a dispute over the repair of a car engine, the 25-year-old fired shots and then also inflicted stab wounds on the victim.
A criminal case was initiated based on three articles of the Criminal Code, including attempted murder. As a result of further measures, on the morning of September 5, the 25-year-old resident of Mayakovski voluntarily went to the Kotayk police department, confessed to the crime, and presented the illegal weapon used in the crime, a firearm with four bullets.
He was presented to the Abovyan investigative department and arrested. The circumstances of the case are being clarified during the investigation.
