“Perhaps he had more important commitments”: MP from the ruling party on Pashinyan's absence from Artsakh – “Hraparak”

“Hraparak” newspaper reports: “Why didn’t Nikol Pashinyan visit Artsakh on the occasion of its 30th anniversary under the pretext of a three-day vacation? MP from the ruling Civil Contract party Hakob Aslanyan defended the Prime Minister, stating: ‘Perhaps Nikol Pashinyan felt unwell, or perhaps he had more important commitments. Don’t turn this into a flag issue and say that Pashinyan didn’t go for this reason.’

He also urged to remember that in parliamentary systems, the legislative body is the highest authority, and a parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly has already gone from Armenia. When we pointed out that it was not the Speaker, but the Deputy Speaker, he attempted to convince us: ‘I have seen pictures of Alen Simonyan sitting there.’ No, it was Ruben Rubinyan who led the delegation. ‘The parliamentary delegation is already the highest authority,’ the MP concluded.”
