Following the launched measures, it came to light that a 29-year-old woman from Goris, aware of her husband's extramarital affair, took a 1-liter bottle half-filled with gasoline and matches from their home around 14:00 on August 25, 2021, and went to a food stand on Artsakh Avenue in Goris. There, upon encountering her husband, she doused him with the flammable liquid and ignited him.
He ran to a nearby car wash, where water was sprayed on him, and he was subsequently transported to the Goris Medical Center. An on-site investigation was conducted, during which three spent matchsticks, portions of burned clothing worn by the victim, and the bottle cap were seized.
A criminal case has been opened under the first clause of the second part of Article 34-104 of the RA Criminal Code, with the preliminary investigation being carried out by the Goris investigative department of the Regional Investigative Administration of Syunik.
