The Changes in the Heads of the Investigative Committee Have Deep Roots: What Is the Purpose?

According to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd," recently the Investigative Committee of Armenia changed the head of the Gegharkunik Investigative Division, appointing Arman Baghdasaryan as the new head. Changes were also made to the heads of the Investigative Divisions in Syunik and Lori provinces.

It turns out that the changes in the heads of the investigations have quite deep roots. The committee made this decision after it became clear that the heads of divisions and, in general, investigators have been constrained in taking specific actions on criminal cases in the regions lately. Therefore, new heads have been appointed—individuals who have no connection to the provinces and can organize serious operations in the regions without seeking assistance from investigators in Yerevan.
