The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Opens a Representative Office for the Armenian Cause in Stepanakert Today
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) has issued a statement on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Artsakh's independence, which we present below.
“On September 2, 1991, Artsakh declared its independence in accordance with international and domestic legal frameworks. The national movement that began in 1988 has entered a new phase. With the united efforts, blood, and sacrifices of the Armenian people, the victorious liberation struggle for Artsakh was forged. The people of Artsakh decisively chose to shake off Azerbaijani rule, erase the artificially imposed Stalinist borders, and declare that through independence, Artsakh would reunite with Mother Armenia.
The 44-day war ignited in September 2020 was a severe blow to the Armenian nation; we are currently at a fateful and crucial juncture in our recent history. We stand united before serious internal and external challenges. The sovereignty of our state is endangered both in Armenia and Artsakh, and our national dignity is under threat. However, the ARF is convinced that this last calamity facing Artsakh is a temporary defeat; the people of Artsakh and the Armenian nation as a whole possess sufficient will and capacity to work towards the restoration of Artsakh and the realization of its ultimate vision of uniting with Armenia.
Thirty years after the declaration of independence, Artsakh needs our support and solidarity more than ever. The bodies of the ARF, the offices of the Armenian Cause, and the committees will remain committed to their mission and will strive with all their might to solidify the status of the Republic of Artsakh, restore territorial integrity, ensure a secure environment, and address economic development issues.
We are pleased to announce that today, in Stepanakert, we are opening the ARF Artsakh office, which will join the network of central offices operating under the direct supervision of the Bureau.
Artsakh has been and remains a symbol of our identity, unity, and national revival, as well as a guarantee of our existence and the creation of a complete Armenia. We congratulate the people of Artsakh on the 30th anniversary of their independence and reaffirm that we will continue our struggle on both internal and external fronts for the benefit of Artsakh’s self-determination, the reaffirmation of a strong statehood, and freedom.”
